Labor Relations Specialist

The Labor Relations Specialist assists in planning, and coordination of labor relations activities. Analyzes and interprets collective bargaining agreements, labor relations policies and practices. Support Labor Relations functions including, but not limited to Team Member investigations, grievance procedures, unemployment claims and hearings, and due process meetings. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

Essential Functions:
1. Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.

2. Prepare and analyze HR reports, and work with Manager of Labor Relations to respond to data requests associated to collective bargaining agreements.

3. Field face-to-face and phone inquiries from Team Members and/or their representative.

4. Support Team Member investigations by gathering evidence, collecting statements, and scheduling meetings.

5. Prepare company correspondences sent to Team Members and/or their representatives that are associated with the collective bargaining agreement issues.

6. Maintain files and records associated with company collective bargaining agreements.

7. Compile and analyze data required for investigations and grievances.

8. Perform duties at Human Resources front desk as scheduled.

9. Support other Human Resources functions as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Two (2) years of work experience in a Human Resources position. Prior experience in unionized environment is preferred.

2. High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.

3. Familiarity with federal and state labor laws.

4. Computer proficiency including experience working with various web browsers, Microsoft Excel, Work, and Outlook.

5. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form.

6. Service-oriented demeanor and ability work directly with all Team Members at the property.

7. Strong listening and critical thinking skills.

8. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all Team Member accounts and records.

9. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.

10. Ability to adjust work schedule and work weekends and holidays when necessary.

11. Must be at least 21 years of age.

12. Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Physical Requirements:
1. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.

2. Ability to communicate on the telephone and in person with internal and external Guests.

3. Ability to sit for prolonged time periods.

4. Ability to view a computer monitor for prolonged time periods.

5. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

6. Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
