Laboratory Assistant, Per Diem, Afternoon Shift

Responsibilities include specimen procurement, accessioning, processing and testing under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS). Performs all assigned duties in designated areas.

Required Skills

• Phlebotomy and Skin puncture techniques on patients ranging from infancy through adults.
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Basic Organizational skills
• Basic Computer Skills

Required Experience

Required:

• Current California Phlebotomy Certification meeting California Business and Profession Codes
• Experience in obtaining blood samples by venipuncture and skin puncture methods.
• Experience with computer data entry

Preferred:

• Two years phlebotomist or laboratory assistant with phlebotomy duties in an acute care hospital.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
