Lab Tech Job Summary:
This entry-level laboratory role involves a range of responsibilities, including sample collection, document assessment, and testing of raw materials, finished products, and environmental samples. The position also requires coordination with other departments, as well as third-party vendors and laboratories.
Job Duties (Including but not limited to)
- Effectively manage time to ensure timely completion of testing. Keep quality control and customer service departments well-informed of testing requirements.
- Assisting Analytical Chemists with the preparation of calibrations, standards, reagents, and samples for analytical analyses by HPLC and ICP-MS.
- Identify raw materials by Near Infrared Red (NIR) Spectroscopy.
- Ensure smooth operation, accurate sample handling, and cleanliness of laboratories.
- Collaborating with Analytical Chemists on tasks and laboratory procedures.
- Training new Laboratory Technicians if necessary.
- Maintaining an organized process for re-certification of raw materials.
- Maintaining all environmental testing as outlined by Quality Control.
- Maintaining raw material specifications and testing protocols.
- Coordinating with third-party laboratories to establish testing protocols, timelines, and cost estimates.
- Approve in-process production, and finished products by confirming specifications and/or laboratory testing results.
- Aiding supervisors in plant sanitation practices and the control of production room releases.
- Working overtime during busy periods and Saturday mornings if necessary.
- Taking inventory of lab equipment and supplies.
Minimum requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Laboratory Experience
- Mathematical ability includes fractions, ratios, and dilutions.
- Basic computer skills
- Organization
- Strong documentation skills
- Problem-solving skills
Abilities required
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to maintain a safe environment when working with chemicals and pathogens.
- Must be able to wear proper PPE at all times (i.e. lab coat, latex/nitrile gloves, mask, hair net).
- Willing to help in other departments when needed.

- Shift is Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm
- Weekends when needed
