Job Summary

The Land Surveyor is responsible for conducting land and construction surveys for road, infrastructure, ASPHALT and utility projects. The role involves establishing control points, setting out project alignments, verifying dimensions and levels, preparing survey reports, and ensuring construction activities are executed according to approved drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform topographic, boundary, as-built, and construction surveys for road and utility projects.
  • Establish horizontal and vertical control points.
  • Carry out setting-out works for roads, drainage, sewerage, water, irrigation, telecom, and electrical utility networks.
  • Verify coordinates, levels, alignments, and elevations before and during construction activities.
  • Conduct site measurements and ensure accuracy of survey data.
  • Prepare survey reports, calculations, and records.
  • Generate survey drawings and coordinate data.
  • Maintain survey logs and field notes.
  • Assist in preparing as-built drawings and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with Project Engineers, Site Engineers, QA/QC Engineers, and Construction Teams.
  • Liaise with consultants, clients, and authorities regarding survey-related activities.
  • Support project teams in resolving survey discrepancies and site issues.
  • Set out road centerlines, carriageways, intersections, roundabouts, and road furniture.
  • Verify road profiles, cross-sections, and pavement levels.
  • Monitor earthworks, excavation, filling, and grading activities.
  • Ensure compliance with approved road construction drawings and specifications.
  • Set out utility corridors and underground services.
  • Verify locations of manholes, chambers, pipelines, ducts, and utility structures.
  • Coordinate with utility authorities to ensure accurate positioning of services.
  • Prepare as-built surveys for completed utility works.

Survey Equipment Management

  • Operate and maintain surveying instruments including:
  • Total Station
  • GPS/GNSS Equipment
  • Auto Level
  • Digital Level
  • Data Collectors
  • Ensure calibration and proper maintenance of survey equipment.
  • Ensure survey activities comply with project specifications and quality requirements.
  • Follow company HSE policies and site safety procedures.
  • Identify and report survey-related risks and discrepancies.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Surveying Certification is preferred.
  • Valid Qatar Driving License is an advantage.

Experience:

  • 5–8 years of experience as a Land Surveyor.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in road construction and utility infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in Ashghal, Infrastructure, Drainage, Sewerage, Water, and Road Projects is highly preferred.
  • GCC/Qatar experience is preferred.
