The Land Surveyor is responsible for carrying out all surveying activities required for building construction projects, including setting out works, level surveys, boundary verification, and as-built surveys. The role ensures that all construction activities are executed accurately in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, and established benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site surveys and establish control points, benchmarks, and reference lines for construction activities.
- Perform setting out of building layouts, grids, columns, foundations, roads, utilities, and other structural elements.
- Verify dimensions, levels, alignments, and coordinates as per approved drawings.
- Carry out topographic, boundary, and as-built surveys throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with project engineers, consultants, and site teams to ensure accurate implementation of survey data.
- Prepare and maintain survey records, reports, sketches, and documentation.
- Operate and maintain surveying instruments such as Total Stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, Automatic Levels, and Digital Levels.
- Monitor and verify excavation levels, foundation locations, structural alignments, and verticality of buildings.
- Assist in quantity measurements and progress verification when required.
- Identify and report discrepancies between site conditions and approved drawings.
- Ensure all survey activities comply with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with consultants and authorities during inspections and approvals.
- Prepare as-built survey drawings and handover documentation upon project completion.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles, construction layouts, and measurement techniques.
- Proficiency in using Total Station, GPS/GNSS, Auto Level, and related surveying equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, site plans, and specifications.
- Knowledge of building construction methodologies and sequencing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and coordination abilities.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field.
- Professional surveying certification is an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience as a Land Surveyor in building construction projects.
- Experience in high-rise, residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments is preferred.
- GCC/UAE construction experience is highly desirable.

Other Requirements:
- Strong understanding of construction tolerances and quality requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple surveying tasks.
