Job Responsibilities:
- Perform field surveys using a variety of equipment, including total stations, GPS receivers, levels, and other surveying instruments.
- Collect precise and detailed field data, including topographical features, boundary lines, elevations, and existing structures.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all collected survey data.
- Process, interpret, and analyze field data using industry-standard surveying software.
- Prepare survey drawings, maps, plats, legal descriptions, and detailed reports based on survey findings.
- Compute measurements such as distances, angles, areas, and volumes.
- Provide surveying support for engineering, construction, and land development projects.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, planners, and project managers to support project objectives.
- Conduct boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys as required.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and codes.
- Research legal records, title data, previous surveys, and land deeds to verify boundaries and property lines.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot surveying equipment to ensure peak performance.
- Monitor project timelines, field conditions, and reporting accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Diploma, Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of proven experience as a Land Surveyor or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of surveying principles, standards, and methodologies.
- Proficiency with surveying software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Leica Geo Office, etc.).
- Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering plans, plats, and legal land descriptions.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial awareness.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various terrains and weather conditions.
- Familiarity with topographic, boundary, construction layout, and control surveys is a plus.
- Professional license or certification (e.g., RPLS, PLS, or equivalent) is an advantage and may be required depending on jurisdiction.
