Job Summary
We are seeking a creative, ambitious and detail-oriented mid level Landscape Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a design-build setting and a strong background in 3D modeling and architectural drafting, as well as the inate ability to solve complex design problems and push boundaries. This role involves collaborating with the studio lead and project managers, as well as the client and construction teams to cultivate sustainable gardens that evoke emotion and meet budgetary goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in accredited Landscape Architecture program
- 5 to 10 years of experience in Residential Landscape Architecture
- Advanced understanding of spatial relationships with the ability to cultivate unique, architectural and high end gardens on both simple and challenging sites
- Strong freehand illustration and rendering skills, visualization, and digital graphic skills
- Effective communication skills in verbal presentation, written narrative, and graphic representation
- Excellent drafting skills and proficient in design software including AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign & Photoshop
- Ability to create 3D models in Sketchup exactly as they would be built during the construction process
- Strong knowledge of plants, hardscape and structural design
- Keen understanding of construction techniques and associated costs
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meet deadlines consistently
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Reliable transportation for site visits in the Los Angeles area

Responsibilities
- The Landscape Designer is responsible for preparing quality landscape designs, construction documents, estimates, and proposals for presentation to clients
- This position interacts with the design and sales staff on a regular basis
- Work in a team environment, collaborating to prepare creative, high-end design solutions
- Communicate design input, challenge team members with constructive feedback to elevate the designs
- Perform site survey, inventory, and analysis to evaluate existing conditions and design opportunities
- Collaborate to develop design solutions using both hand and computer graphics with AutoCAD, Sketchup and Adobe Suite
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure design intent is clearly understood and implemented, providing guidance and solutions to support successful project execution
- Conduct Initial client meetings, create project proposals and ensure overall client satisfaction
- Develop ability to gain construction detail knowledge to develop attention to detail skills
- Attend client meetings and site layouts, as necessary
- Demonstrate flexibility to perform duties wherever volume deems it necessary
- Develop ability to deliver quality results under tight deadlines
- Develop ability to problem solve and collaborate with Project Managers and Production Coordinators through design process
- Demonstrate a commitment to self-development and continuing education
- Demonstrate accountability for work being performed and completed on schedule
