- Overview
- We are seeking a talented and innovative Landscape Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating sustainable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces for a diverse range of clients. This role offers the opportunity to work on projects that integrate environmental considerations with creative design, utilizing advanced software tools and industry best practices. The Landscape Designer will collaborate closely with clients, homeowners’ associations (HOAs), and internal teams to bring visionary landscapes to life while adhering to project budgets and timelines.
- Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and renderings that incorporate hardscape elements such as patios, walkways, and retaining walls.
- Conduct site analysis using tools like ArcView and ArcGIS to assess topography, soil conditions, and environmental impact.
- Integrate sustainable design principles into landscape plans to promote eco-friendly practices and water conservation through irrigation planning.
- Collaborate with civil engineers and surveyors to ensure accurate land surveying and compliance with zoning regulations.
- Select appropriate plant materials considering horticultural best practices and landscape maintenance requirements.
- Incorporate civil engineering considerations such as drainage systems and utility placements into landscape designs.
- Use Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) for presentation boards and client proposals.
- Stay updated on current trends in landscaping, construction techniques, and sustainable design practices.
- Requirements
- Proven experience with landscape design software including SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Rhino 3D, MicroStation, and ArcGIS/ArcView.
- Strong knowledge of horticulture, landscaping techniques, land surveying, irrigation systems, and sustainable design principles.
- Familiarity with construction processes related to hardscape installation and landscape construction management.
- Ability to produce detailed drafting and CAD drawings for construction documents.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of civil engineering concepts relevant to landscape architecture is preferred.
- Effective communication skills for client presentations and team collaboration.
- A degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required; professional licensure is a plus.
