Landscape Foreman

Position Overview

The Landscape Foreman is responsible for leading a small crew in the maintenance & possible installation of residential and commercial landscapes. This is a working leadership position that requires both hands-on landscape work and effective crew supervision. The foreman ensures projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Crew Leadership

• Supervise and lead a landscape crew of 2–5 team members
• Assign daily tasks and ensure efficient workflow
• Train crew members in proper landscaping techniques and safety procedures
• Foster a positive, respectful team environment

Project Management

• Execute landscape installation and maintenance projects according to plans and work orders
• Ensure work meets company quality standards and client expectations
• Track project progress and adjust tasks as needed to meet deadlines

Jobsite Management

• Organize daily jobsite setup and cleanup
• Ensure necessary tools, equipment, and materials are on site
• Maintain equipment and report maintenance needs

Client & Team Communication

• Communicate professionally with clients when on-site
• Coordinate with management regarding schedules, materials, and project updates
• Report job progress, challenges, and solutions

Safety

• Enforce jobsite safety standards and company policies
• Ensure crew operates tools and equipment safely

Hands-On Landscape Work

• Planting, mulching, pruning, and bed preparation
• Irrigation installation and basic repair
• Hardscape installation (pavers, stone, retaining walls)- we will work with you if you have minimal experience with this
• Operation of landscaping equipment and small machinery

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years experience in landscaping or landscape construction
• Previous crew leadership or foreman experience preferred
• Ability to read basic landscape plans and work orders
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• *Experience operating landscape equipment (skid steer, compactors, power tools)- a plus but not a must
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Preferred Skills

• Irrigation troubleshooting and repair
• Plant identification and horticultural knowledge
• Hardscape installation experience
• Must be willing to drive to job sites * Owning a truck is a plus!
