SUMMARY
This position supervises a team of landscape workers of up to seven employees and provides instructions to successfully perform general industrial landscaping work. The foreman position assigns tasks, trains, and monitors crew members, including the use of machinery; responsibilities also include overseeing the construction of new landscapes and maintaining existing grounds and landscapes. The work includes, but is not limited to, keeping grounds clean, healthy, safe, and attractive by edging, fertilizing, and maintaining lawns, pulling weeds, raking and blowing leaves, planting, applying mulch and bark, installing natural and artificial turf, trimming small trees, removing trash and unwanted, dead, or damaged plants, applying fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides as directed, and using outdoor hand tools daily.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
● 3 years of landscaping experience
● Valid driver’s license (of at least 3 years)
● Ability to transport your crew to and from job sites in a company vehicle
● Supervises a team of up to seven employees. Assigns tasks and provides daily instruction and on-site supervision. The foreman will be assigned to lead a team in the Maintenance or Landscaping division as needed, as assigned by a senior supervisor based on business needs.
● Responsible for ensuring all meal and rest breaks for the crew are taken. Ensures that all employees take required breaks and uninterrupted minimum 30-minute meal breaks on time and in accordance with company policy.
● Trains new employees on their job duties and the use of hand and power tools. Responsible for ongoing training and coaching of existing employees.
● Manages the project schedule to meet the daily timeline and complete projects within a defined timeframe.
● Responsible for supervising projects and ensuring all projects are completed correctly, on time, and that the work performed meets both client and company expectations.
● Prepares all relevant documentation, including but not limited to project timesheets.
● Responsible for reporting any landscaping issues to a supervisor, including but not limited to broken sprinklers, pipes, water lines, or other landscaping needs such as fertilizers and plant replacement.
● Reports all work-related employee injuries immediately to the safety coordinator and to Medcor so the employee receives immediate medical assistance.
● Meets or exceeds all health and safety standards established by the company while performing all job duties.
