Overview:
Performs a lead role within the Landscape Team in the day-to-day horticultural and landscaping activities affecting the casino and hotel grounds, off-site properties, and/or any other assigned areas.
Responsibilities:
- Guides, supports, and trains the Landscape Gardener on proper maintenance techniques of various landscaped environments.

Maintains native and adaptive landscapes by pruning and trimming flowers, shrubs, and trees within the guidelines required be each variety.

Controls weeds of landscaped areas, fertilizes as needed, and may edge or mow.

Identifies, prevents, controls, and treats plant diseases, as directed.

Identifies and controls problems with pests, such as gophers, snails, aphids, etc.

May assist in irrigation activities as needed.

Reports to the Landscape Manager situations that require attention or are potential problem areas beyond day-to-day responsibilities.

Trains, mentors, develops, coaches, resolves problems, provides open communication vehicles, and recommends disciplinary actions as appropriate.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate.

Two years of experience in commercial horticulture/landscape experience.

One year of prior experience in a supervisory or lead capacity.

Must participate and complete required ongoing departmental training.

Must hold a valid California driver's license and meet the insurance requirements of Chumash Enterprises.

Knowledge of plant types, trees, shrubs, groundcovers, and weed species.

Knowledge of pruning, planting, staking, and deadheading.

Knowledge of irrigation systems.

Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, e-mail, and internet.

Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
- Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
