Landscape Gardener

Position Description | Seasonal Gardener (March–November, 1099 Contractor)

We’re seeking a capable, hands-on gardener who brings both skill and initiative to the landscape. The core of this role is fine garden maintenance, complemented by seasonal work such as bulb planting and winter watering of trees and shrubs.

This is a position for someone who notices details—who can distinguish a desirable seedling from a weed (and knows most of the usual suspects in Colorado), and who takes quiet pride in keeping a garden at its best. A steady work ethic, good judgment, and a willingness to meet Colorado’s ever-changing weather head-on will serve you well here.

Compensation$20–$23/hour, depending on experience

The Ideal CandidateYou are dependable, steady, and take your work seriously—without taking yourself too seriously. You show up on time (every time), communicate clearly, and follow through. You’re comfortable working outdoors in all conditions and understand the rhythm and physicality of garden work.

You likely have:

• 1–2 years of hands-on gardening or landscaping experience
• Experience with plant and seedling identification, especially common Colorado weeds
• Working knowledge of gardening tools and basic horticultural practices
• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout the day
• A genuine interest in growing your skills, particularly in garden design

Qualifications

• Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic
• Passion for gardening and outdoor work
• Solid communication and time management skills
• Reliable personal transportation and the ability to travel independently between job sites (non-negotiable)
• Professional references
