Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Stormwater Maintenance Crew Member and play a vital role in ensuring the proper functioning and sustainability of stormwater management systems. In this energetic and hands-on position, you will be responsible for maintaining stormwater infrastructure, including catch basins, pipes, and drainage channels. Your efforts will help prevent flooding, protect environmental quality, and support community safety. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of stormwater infrastructure such as catch basins, pipes, detention ponds, and outfalls.
- Clear debris from drainage systems using hand tools, power tools, or small excavators to ensure unobstructed water flow.
- Conduct landscaping and lawn care tasks around stormwater facilities to prevent overgrowth and maintain accessibility.
- Assist with general construction activities related to stormwater system upgrades or repairs, including excavation and hardscape installation.
- Use landscaping skills to manage vegetation around stormwater areas, including tree trimming and planting native plants for erosion control.
- Operate slope mowers, tractors, skid steers, and excavators
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment
- Follow all safety procedures and requirements
- Travel required - Generally 2 to 6 nights per month
Skills
- Must have Valid Drivers license
- Drug Free with ability to pass a DOT physical
- Mechanical knowledge for operating and maintaining equipment such as excavators, power tools, and hand tools.
- Experience with lawn care, landscape maintenance, gardening, and horticulture practices.
- Familiarity with construction techniques related to stormwater systems as well as clearing and grading.
- Ability to perform tree care tasks including trimming and removal safely and effectively.
- Strong physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions; ability to lift heavy objects safely.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward safety protocols and quality standards. Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
