Landscape Laborer

Responsibilities

• Assist with landscape installation, including planting trees, shrubs, and flowers using hand tools and power tools.
• Perform lawn care duties such as mowing, edging, trimming, and aerating lawns to promote healthy growth.
• Maintain landscapes through pruning, tree trimming, and shrub shaping to ensure safety and visual appeal.
• Operate equipment such as excavators, snow plows, irrigation systems, and other landscaping machinery safely and effectively.
• Support hardscape projects by preparing surfaces, laying pavers or stones, and installing features like pathways or retaining walls.
• Conduct routine landscape maintenance tasks including watering, fertilizing, mulching, and pest control.
• Assist with snow plowing during winter months to keep pathways safe and accessible.
• Use hand tools like shovels, rakes, pruners, and power tools to complete various landscaping tasks efficiently.
• Follow safety protocols at all times while working with construction equipment or in potentially hazardous environments.

Experience

• Prior experience in landscaping or groundskeeping is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated learners.
• Mechanical knowledge related to landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, excavators, or irrigation systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with lawn care practices including mowing, fertilizing, aeration, and pest management is desirable.
• Knowledge of horticulture principles and plant care techniques will help you succeed in this role.
• Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively is essential.
• Experience with snow plowing or winter landscape maintenance is advantageous for seasonal coverage.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions is required. Pay: $24.70 - $29.75 per hour
