Landscape Laborer (Mowing & Landscape Maintenance)

We are looking for reliable, hard-working individuals who can handle physically demanding work, follow direction, and take pride in doing things right.

You will be working in:

• Production mowing
• Landscape maintenance (pruning, mulching, weeding)
• Seasonal cleanups
• Other departments as needed

If you’re not comfortable working outdoors all day, moving at a steady pace, and being held to a high standard—this isn’t the job for you.

Position Overview

This is a hands-on labor position supporting both mowing crews and landscape maintenance operations.

You will work under a Foreman and be expected to:

• Follow direction
• Maintain production pace
• Deliver clean, professional results

This role is flexible across departments, meaning you may be assigned to different crews based on daily operational needs.

Core Responsibilities: Mowing & Property Maintenance

• Operate zero-turn, stand-on, or push mowers (based on experience)
• Perform trimming around obstacles, beds, and structures
• Edge and maintain clean property lines
• Blow off all hard surfaces (driveways, sidewalks, patios)
• Maintain overall property appearance

Landscape Maintenance & Plant Care

• Prune shrubs, ornamentals, and perennials properly
• Perform hand weeding and detailed bed maintenance
• Install mulch and assist with seasonal bed work
• Edge and reshape garden beds
• Assist with spring/fall cleanups

Team Support & Flexibility

• Work under direction of Foreman on daily tasks
• Float between:
• Mowing crews
• Maintenance crews
• Planting crews
• Snow operations (winter)
• Assist wherever needed to keep operations moving

Equipment You May Use

• Zero-turn, stand-on, and push mowers
• String trimmers and edgers
• Backpack and handheld blowers
• Hand tools (pruners, loppers, hedge trimmers, rakes, shovels)

Equipment Care Expectations

• Perform basic pre-use checks (fuel, condition, safety)
• Keep equipment clean and job-ready
• Report dull blades, damaged tools, or malfunctions immediately
• Maintain tools in clean, safe working condition

Requirements

• Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and reliability (show up ready to work)
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Willingness to learn multiple aspects of landscaping
• Valid driver’s license preferred

Physical Requirements

• Lift 50+ lbs regularly
• Frequent bending, kneeling, and repetitive hand work
• Long hours walking, standing, and working outdoors
