We are seeking a creative and skilled Landscape & Outdoor Kitchen Designer to join our team. This role focuses on producing professional backyard designs, patio layouts, and outdoor kitchen configurations for customers visiting our Design Studios.

Position Summary

The Landscape & Outdoor Kitchen Designer works directly with homeowners, contractors, and our design team to create custom outdoor living plans that highlight Nicolock products. The ideal candidate brings a combination of design expertise, technical understanding of outdoor kitchens and hardscapes, and strong customer-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

- Meet with customers at the Nicolock Design Studios to understand design goals, preferred styles, and project budgets.

- Create 2D and 3D landscape design plans incorporating pavers, patio layouts, retaining walls, plantings, lighting concepts, and outdoor living accessories.

- Design and configure outdoor kitchens, including appliance layout, countertop planning, grill placement, and utility considerations.

- Prepare scaled drawings, renderings, and material lists for customer presentations.

- Assist customers with product selection and ensure design accuracy based on available Nicolock materials.

- Conduct site visits when necessary to take measurements and evaluate project conditions.

- Stay updated on current outdoor living trends, design software, and new hardscape products.

- Support showroom visual updates and help maintain displays that inspire and educate customers.

- Coordinate with installers, contractors, or internal teams to ensure design intent is executed correctly.

Qualifications

- Degree or certification in Landscape Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- Minimum 2 years of residential landscape or outdoor kitchen design experience.

- Proficient with design software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Realtime Landscaping, or similar rendering tools.

- Strong understanding of hardscape materials, outdoor space planning, and design principles.

- Knowledge of outdoor kitchen components including grills, appliances, and countertop layouts.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills.

- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at once in a retail design environment.
