About the Role

As our Crew Leader, you’ll be the driving force on the job site, leading a crew across residential and commercial properties throughout the Kalamazoo area. You won’t just be following orders — your experience and input will help shape how we work and grow.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a landscape installation crew on residential and commercial job sites
• Direct and perform planting of trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and groundcovers according to design plans
• Install and grade topsoil, compost, and mulch to proper specifications
• Oversee and perform sodding, seeding, and lawn establishment tasks
• Read and interpret landscape design plans and translate them into high-quality installations
• Operate earth moving equipment (skid steer, mini skid steer, mini excavator) for site prep and grading
• Delegate tasks and keep the crew on schedule to meet project timelines
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality and design standards before leaving a site
• Communicate professionally with clients and address on-site concerns
• Complete job site documentation, timesheets, and daily reports as required
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure all crew members follow proper procedures
• Transport crew and equipment safely between job sites

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of landscaping experience, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role
• Valid Chauffeur’s license required
• Strong knowledge of plants, turf, and landscape maintenance practices
• Proven ability to lead a team and keep work moving efficiently
• Physically capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience operating earth moving equipment (skid steer, mini skid steer, mini excavator, etc.) strongly preferred
• Snow plowing experience strongly preferred
• Irrigation experience a plus
• Experience with the LMN Crew app a plus
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
