Job Overview
Our Housekeeping/Laundry personnel performs the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping/Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standard, guidelines, and regulations governing this facility, and as may be directed by the Director of Environmental Services/Housekeeping Supervisor, to assure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe manner. Housekeeping Duties

• Perform day to day housekeeping functions as assigned. Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing.

• Clean, wash, sanitize, and polish bathroom fixtures. Assures that water marks are removed from fixtures.

• Change bed linens and towels according to established standards.

• Clean floors to include: sweeping, dust mopping, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc. Assure that appropriate wet floor signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.

• Clean carpets to include: vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.

• Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.

• Ensure that all cleaning supplies are stocked and organized for efficient use.

• Perform terminal cleaning procedures as directed when a resident is discharged and/or transferred to another room/area.

Laundry Duties:

• Performs day to day laundry functions as assigned.

• Manage laundry operations, including washing, drying, and folding.

• Collect and sort soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc. and place in appropriate containers or assigned areas.

• Fold, stack, hand, and distribute clean laundry to residents daily, or as instructed.

• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.

• Maintain a clean and organized laundry area to promote efficiency.

• Assist in the cleaning of common areas such as lobbies, hallways, and restrooms as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age

• Previous experience in housekeeping or laundry services is preferred, but not necessary.

• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.

• Ability to operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.

• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Physical stamina is required for lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods throughout the shift.
