Duties

• Operate lawn care equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and power tools to maintain lawns and landscaped areas.
• Perform landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, edging, and mulching to promote healthy growth and visual appeal.
• Manage irrigation systems by installing, repairing, and adjusting sprinklers to ensure optimal watering schedules.
• Conduct grounds maintenance by trimming trees, removing debris, and performing snow plowing during winter months.
• Use hand tools and heavy machinery like excavators for hardscape installation or landscape construction projects.
• Identify plants accurately to assist with horticulture tasks and ensure proper care; recognize pests and apply pesticide management safely following protocols.
• Follow all safety procedures diligently while operating equipment or working in outdoor environments to prevent accidents.

Skills

• Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate and maintain landscaping and groundskeeping equipment effectively.
• Strong landscape maintenance skills including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and hardscape installation.
• Experience with gardening practices, plant identification, tree care, and horticulture principles.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, irrigation systems, and grounds maintenance equipment such as excavators.
• Knowledge of pesticide management protocols and safety procedures for outdoor chemical application.
• Construction experience is a plus for projects involving hardscape or landscape modifications.
• Outdoor work experience demonstrating adaptability in various weather conditions while adhering to safety standards.
