Job Description

Job Title: Senior Virtualization Engineer (L3/L4)

Location: Riyadh, KSA

Focus: Core Virtualization (VMware/AHV) & OpenShift Container Platform

Role Overview

We are seeking a high-level L3/L4 Virtualization Engineer to take ownership of a mission-critical infrastructure comprising ~30 physical Nutanix nodes. This role is responsible for a hybrid-hypervisor environment, managing VMware ESXi for production and Nutanix AHV for non-production workloads. You will also lead the management of our Red Hat OpenShift environment and oversee a comprehensive Data Protection and Disaster Recovery strategy involving Oracle Cloud (OCVS), Zerto, and Veeam.

Short Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Core Virtualization & HCI Management

• Manage & Optimize: Administer ~30 physical Nutanix nodes supporting multi-hypervisor environments (ESXi and AHV).
• Storage Integration: Manage Nutanix unified storage (Files, Volumes, Objects) presented to the virtualization layers.
• Lifecycle Management: Perform non-disruptive hardware and software upgrades (AOS, Prism Central, ESXi patches) using Nutanix LCM.
• Performance Tuning: Deep-dive troubleshooting of compute and storage latency issues within the Nutanix stack.

2. Containerization (OpenShift)

• Support Red Hat OpenShift clusters running on the virtualization layer.
• Manage persistent storage for containers via Nutanix CSI drivers.
• Ensure high availability and security compliance for containerized applications.

3. Data Protection & Disaster Recovery (Secondary)

• DR Orchestration: Maintain and test DR workflows between on-premises clusters and Oracle Cloud VMware Solution (OCVS) using Zerto .
• Backup Operations: Oversee the Veeam backup infrastructure, ensuring successful replication to Dell DataDomain .
• Legacy Compliance: Manage long-term data retention via Physical Tape Libraries .
