Lead Afterschool Teacher and Teacher Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Afterschool Teacher and a Assistant Teacher to inspire and guide children in a dynamic afterschool environment. In this role, you will lead engaging educational activities, foster a safe and nurturing space, and support children’s social, emotional, and academic development. Duties

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote childhood development, creativity, and social skills.
  • Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all children.
  • Supervise children during indoor activities, outdoor play, meals, and rest periods to ensure safety at all times.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans that incorporate early childhood education principles and cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children’s progress, behavior, and any concerns that arise during the program.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure compliance with childcare licensing regulations and safety protocols such as first aid procedures.
  • Support children with special needs by adapting activities and providing inclusive care aligned with best practices in special education.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or childcare programs.
  • Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies suitable for early childhood education.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or Christian counseling are a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
  • Ability to lead activities that foster childhood development across cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and creative domains.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
  • Passion for working with children of diverse backgrounds and supporting their growth through engaging activities like theater, sports coaching, babysitting techniques, or other enrichment programs.
