About the Role:

The Lead Associate – Planning plays a pivotal role in driving strategic planning initiatives and ensuring operational efficiency across the organization. This position requires a strong foundation in merchandising, inventory management, and data-driven decision-making. You will be responsible for developing and executing planning strategies that align with business goals,

optimize inventory flow, and enhance category performance.


Key Responsibilities:

Inventory & OTB Management

  • Monitor inventory health and plan inward movement based on GMV, DOH, and STR targets
  • Ensure optimal stock levels to support sales and profitability goals

Assortment & Selection Planning

  • Create season-level buy plans and assortment strategies using historical performance and revenue targets
  • Ensure comprehensive category representation across product lines

Performance Analysis & Optimization

  • Review style-level metrics including ROS, Sell-through, RPI, and RGM
  • Identify underperforming styles and implement corrective actions

Category Expansion & Product Gaps

  • Analyze assortment gaps and recommend brand or category additions to strengthen offerings

Pricing & Discount Strategy

  • Collaborate with category teams to secure timely pricing controls (SOR/OR)
  • Drive discounting strategies aligned with profitability and planned STR/GM/RGM

Merchandising Operations

  • Oversee inbound planning, cataloguing, and discount monitoring
  • Ensure smooth execution of merchandising workflows with operational excellence

Process Improvement

  • Apply a problem-solving mindset to planning challenges
  • Lead and implement process enhancement initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education - Graduate from NIFT or a reputed institution
  • Experience - 6–7 years (Graduate) or 4–5 years (Postgraduate) in buying/planning/merchandising
  • Domain Knowledge - Strong understanding of planning and inventory management (E-commerce experience preferred)
  • Technical Skills - Advanced MS Excel: familiarity with SQL is a plus
  • Mindset - Customer-centric, analytical, and creative problem solver
  • Collaboration - Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Multitasking - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Initiative - Willingness to learn, innovate, and take ownership
