Pay Range: $20.00 per hour, plus tips

Job Summary: The Lead Bartender is responsible for ensuring all beverages are ordered, stocked, and inventoried, while monitoring staff performance to ensure guest satisfaction. This role manages the bar operations, delivering prompt, courteous service in accordance with brand standards and maintaining a safe and profitable environment.

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Interact with guests, solicit feedback, and implement service recovery when necessary.
  • Execute revenue and check control procedures during shifts.
  • Assist in selecting, training, and providing ongoing performance feedback to staff, ensuring brand standards and guest satisfaction goals are met.
  • Utilize tools such as schedules, floor plans, and checklists to manage shift operations efficiently.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to communicate specials, hotel occupancy, guest satisfaction scores, and staff concerns.
  • Resolve daily operational issues such as call-outs, last-minute bookings, and delayed ticket times.
  • Monitor floor volume and assist with seating, serving, and kitchen communication as needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Order and manage inventory of beer, wine, liquor, and bar supplies, and manage vendor accounts.
  • Execute activations and partnership events, ensuring proper scheduling, planning, and preparation based on Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Ensure proper stocking, accurate order delivery, and correct invoicing for all bar orders.
  • Implement marketing and upselling techniques to promote bar services and maximize revenue.
  • Train staff on beverage offerings, events, and pricing to control costs and maintain budgeted spending.

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:

  • 2+ years of related food and beverage experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage staff and guest interactions.
  • Experience in ordering, inventory management, and vendor relations.
  • Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and resolve operational issues efficiently.
  • TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in hotels.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily an indoor work environment with moderate noise levels typical of a bar or restaurant setting.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment used in bar operations.
  • Requires frequent standing and walking during shifts.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. and push/pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
