Lead, CDP & Audience Operations

Job Summary

Help shape how customer data powers marketing at scale. Chamberlain Group is looking for a hands-on leader to own and evolve our Customer Data Platform (CDP) operations—from data ingestion and audience logic to activation across marketing and lifecycle channels. In this role, you’ll partner across Marketing, IT, and analytics to turn customer data into scalable audience strategies, personalized activation, and measurable business impact. You’ll serve as the primary power user of the CDP, define requirements for new use cases, and help ensure our data and activation workflows are reliable, efficient, and built to support growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary business owner and power user for Chamberlain Group’s Customer Data Platform (CDP).
  • Manage end-to-end data workflows including ingestion, integration, event requirements, attributes, segmentation, and activation.
  • Translate business and marketing needs into CDP-ready requirements for events, attributes, and activation logic.
  • Partner with Marketing, IT, and analytics teams to prioritize enhancements, resolve issues, and scale CDP use cases.
  • Develop, operationalize, and optimize marketing audiences to support lifecycle engagement, personalization, and performance goals.
  • Drive governance and best practices across CDP processes, ensuring audience quality, consistency, and activation reliability.
  • Monitor CDP performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve segmentation accuracy, activation speed, and data health.
  • Lead backlog prioritization, sprint grooming, and cross-functional planning to support marketing strategy and program execution.
  • Stay current on CDP, martech, and marketing data trends and recommend enhancements to strengthen capabilities.

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Digital Technology, Business, or related field.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working with a Customer Data Platform (CDP).
  • 1+ years experience leading CDP-related projects, enhancements, or cross-functional initiatives.
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing technology, customer data, marketing operations, or digital marketing.
  • Experience with Agile methodology in a product owner or business analyst capacity.
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment within a large or global organization.
  • Proven ability to turn business needs into data and activation requirements.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to build trusted relationships across marketing, IT, analytics, and external vendors.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate priorities, rationale, and requirements to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple technical projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Executive presence and ability to present ideas and recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort navigating ambiguity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience with Tealium (Tag Manager or CDP).
  • Experience with Workfront or similar project management tools.
  • Experience supporting lifecycle marketing, CRM, personalization, or audience-based activation.

The pay range for this position is $102,600.00 - $165,375.00; base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
