Lead cost Engineer

A Lead Cost Engineer is responsible for leading cost management activities on projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis. They also play a key role in risk management, process improvement, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role often involves mentoring junior staff and collaborating with various teams to ensure accurate cost control

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Budgeting and Forecasting: Developing and maintaining project budgets, forecasting costs, and analyzing variances.
• Cost Tracking and Control: Implementing and monitoring cost control systems, tracking actual costs against estimates, and identifying cost trends.
• Risk Management: Identifying potential cost risks and developing mitigation strategies.
• Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve cost efficiency and implementing process improvements.
• Compliance: Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Team Leadership: Providing guidance and mentorship to junior cost engineers, and leading cost management activities.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicating cost-related information to project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Technical Expertise: Applying cost engineering principles and techniques to various projects.
• System Implementation and Management: Implementing and managing cost management systems and tools.
