Lead Dental Assistant

Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Lead Dental Assistant who will be acting as an Operational Assistant and will serve as a key floater across three office locations, providing both clinical and front office support wherever coverage is needed. This individual will be expected to seamlessly transition between assisting chairside and managing administrative responsibilities to keep daily operations running smoothly. Responsibilities include supporting scheduling and patient flow, coordinating supplies, ensuring compliance, and assisting with team coordination. The ideal candidate is adaptable, highly organized, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while delivering an excellent patient experience.

This is for a full time opportunity working 40 hours /week with office hours MON-FRI 8AM-5PM & Alternating Saturdays 7amm-1:30PM with a starting salary of $23hourly + raise eligibility after 90 days.

Duties

  • Provide chairside clinical support as a Lead Dental Assistant, ensuring efficient, high-quality patient care
  • Float between three office locations to support both clinical and front office teams as needed
  • Seamlessly transition between assisting, sterilization, patient preparation, and administrative duties throughout the day
  • Support front office functions including patient check-in/check-out, scheduling, and treatment coordination when needed
  • Help maintain smooth patient flow and ensure schedules stay on track
  • Monitor, organize, and coordinate clinical supplies and inventory across locations
  • Assist in maintaining OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control compliance standards
  • Serve as a reliable operational support partner to doctors and team members
  • Help foster a positive, team-oriented environment and contribute to an excellent patient experience
  • Step in proactively wherever support is needed to ensure seamless daily operations

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, & Hep B exam required + CPR certification (BLS) – preferred
  • 6 months + of experience in a dental setting; comfortable supporting both clinical and administrative/front office responsibilities
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes, and experience with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, and customer service abilities
  • DA expierence with strong clinical skills with the ability to confidently assist in a fast-paced environment
  • Adaptable, flexible, and comfortable floating between multiple locations, with reliable transportation and ability to travel between offices
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to step in and lead by example

EXPECTATIONS

The Operations Assistant is expected to ensure smooth daily operations by proactively supporting both administrative and clinical teams. This role requires strong organization, clear communication, and the ability to anticipate needs in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate maintains professionalism, supports team collaboration, protects patient confidentiality, and contributes to operational efficiency, productivity goals, and an exceptional patient experience.
