Lead Dental Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the daily operations of the dental assisting team, ensure exceptional patient care, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. Your leadership will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and confident in their dental experience. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about advancing dental health through teamwork and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor dental assisting staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient clinical environment
  • Chairside assist the dentist during various procedures, including endodontic surgery
  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed
  • Take dental X-ray images, including 3D scans, while maintaining proper radiation safety standards
  • Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Coordinate with the dentist and dental reception team to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently
  • Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure all equipment is functioning properly for seamless clinic operations

Required Skills:

  • 3-5 years dental assisting experience (prior endodontic or specialty practice experience as lead assistant a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy, and assisting in clinical procedures, including surgical procedures
  • X-ray certification (experience with X-ray techniques, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology a plus)
  • Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques within a dental setting
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with dentists, patients, and team members effectively. Positive and professional communication style.
  • Ability to lead by example, motivate staff, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to organize supplies/inventory and maintain ordering
  • Maintain dental and mechanical office equipment and communicate with dental reps as needed

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
