Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Dental Assistant to join our dental team. You will INDEPENDANTLY oversee daily clinical operations, support the dental team in delivering exceptional patient care, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. The ideal candidate is a self starter, detail-oriented, and proactive in getting end of day, week and month duties completed.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of dental assistants and support staff to ensure smooth clinic operations
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and sterilization protocols following aseptic techniques
- Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records, and verifying insurance information using Eaglesoft
- Take high-quality X-ray images for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and medical documentation standards
- Perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging to monitor patient health before procedures
- Maintain infection control protocols including sterilization, hand hygiene, and proper disposal of contaminated materials
- Support the team in scheduling appointments, managing records, and processing lab cases for delivery
- Educate patients on oral health practices, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to enhance their understanding and comfort
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with a strong background in restorative dentistry preferred
- Familiarity with Eaglesoft for managing records and documentation
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, dental terminology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques
- Experience with X-ray sensors and intraoral cameras for chairside assisting in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment and understand medical terminology relevant to dental care
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience as a Lead Dental Assistant is highly desirable
- Certification in CPR/BLS is required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics are a plus
THIS IS A SMALL RURAL OFFICE THAT THRIVES ON INDEPENDANT AND EFFICIENT TEAM MEMBERS. YOU WILL NOT BE MICROMANAGED ONCE YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES ARE GIVEN.
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
