Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Discipline Engineer – Mechanical & Control to oversee engineering design, coordination, and execution activities for our ongoing projects in Kochi. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in mechanical systems and control instrumentation, combined with leadership capability and hands-on project experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all discipline engineering activities related to Mechanical and Control Systems.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables including datasheets, specifications, P&IDs, GA drawings, and equipment lists.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure technical alignment and project integration.
- Provide technical support during design, fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning stages.
- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with project specifications and international codes (ASME, API, ISO, ISA).
- Interface with clients, vendors, and contractors to resolve technical queries and design deviations.
- Monitor project progress, ensure engineering deliverables meet schedule and quality requirements.
- Develop and maintain discipline engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers and support staff.
- Ensure adherence to HSE standards and quality management systems throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory).
- 10–13 years of relevant experience in mechanical systems engineering and control/instrumentation within EPC, oil & gas, or large industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical equipment (pumps, compressors, rotating/static equipment) and control system components.
- Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, layouts, control logic, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with international standards (ASME, API, ISO, ASTM, ISA).
- Excellent coordination, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work in a fast-paced project environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in large EPC or industrial plant projects.
- Vendor management and technical evaluation exposure.
- Site experience during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
