Operational Analyses and Reporting
- Leads internal financial, planning, and analysis projects and initiatives for the business, including budget, forecast, and ad-hoc reporting to management.
- Leads the development of highly complex analyses and reports in order to provide accurate, timely, and actionable financial and/or performance improvement recommendations. This includes utilization analysis, overhead cost control and analysis, P&L analysis, backlog analysis and trending, staff workload analysis, SWOT analysis, Risk and Opportunity Analysis.
- Prepares consolidated findings for management and leadership to provide insights and recommendations into business performance, levers, and opportunities.
- Coordinating with the headquarters accounting function for financial issues.
- Supports management decision-making and leadership with in-depth analysis and assessment of business processes.
- Manages approvals and reporting for hardware, software, cellphones, and capital expenses.
Data Presentation and Reporting
- Prepares presentations to and recommendations for senior management. Performs ad-hoc reporting and analysis including analytical and research support for various corporate and unit/group projects. Recommends and develops financial content for group presentations.
Operational Collaboration
- Serves as the unit's/group's operational primary point of contact by providing coordination, assistance and direction with various corporate functions and other departments or groups within the firm.
Resource and Performance Management Support
- Create monthly backlog reports and facilitates reviews of forward workload strength of plan reviews with management team
- Tracks, calculates and reports on KPIs for SPARS staff and staff that have a role with defined goals and metrics.
Operational and Administrative Support
- Provides operational and administrative guidance to management. Manages approvals for hardware, software, cellphones, and capital expenses. Manages the unit/group award program - budgeting and tracking.
Staff Mentorship
- Provides guidance to more junior staff and mentors staff on projects, initiatives, and financial and business acumen.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. 8 years of relevant experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with:
- monthly business reviews, and conducting ad hoc financial reporting.
- working for a professional service organization.
- using cloud service for financial reporting (Oracle R12, ePBCS).
- using analytical software (Qlik, PowerBI).
- MS Office suite with an advanced level of MS Excel
- Smartview.

Pay Range Maximum
$148,886
Additional Compensation
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
