Role description

Role Proficiency:

Act creatively to develop applications and select appropriate technical options optimizing application development maintenance and performance by employing design patterns and reusing proven solutions account for others' developmental activities

Outcomes:

  • Interpret the application/feature/component design to develop the same in accordance with specifications.
  • Code debug test document and communicate product/component/feature development stages.
  • Validate results with user representatives; integrates and commissions the overall solution
  • Select appropriate technical options for development such as reusing improving or reconfiguration of existing components or creating own solutions

    IBM IDR Developer – Data Migration (Mainframe & Cloud) Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (IDR) Developer with hands-on experience in designing and implementing data migration solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IBM IDR toolsets, with proven experience migrating data from mainframe environments to cloud platforms. This role requires deep technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and implement data migration strategies using IBM IDR. • Configure, monitor, and optimize replication processes between mainframe systems and cloud targets (AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent). • Collaborate with architects, DBAs, and business stakeholders to ensure data integrity, consistency, and performance during migration. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to replication, latency, and connectivity. • Document technical designs, migration procedures, and best practices. • Provide knowledge transfer and training to team members on IBM IDR usage and data migration methodologies. Required Skills & Experience • Hands-on experience with IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (IDR) tool. • Strong background in data migration projects involving mainframe systems (z/OS, DB2, VSAM, etc.). • Experience migrating data to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). • Proficiency in SQL, DB2, Oracle, or other relational databases. • Solid understanding of ETL processes, replication technologies, and data integration patterns. • Ability to troubleshoot complex replication issues and optimize performance. • Excellent communication and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Kafka, MQ, or other messaging systems integrated with IDR. • Familiarity with cloud-native data services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, BigQuery). • Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security practices in migration projects. • Prior experience in large-scale enterprise migration programs.
