Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Infant Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will lead classroom activities, foster a nurturing environment, and implement developmentally appropriate curricula for infants. Your leadership will ensure that each child's unique needs are met through engaging lessons, compassionate care, and effective classroom management. As a Lead Infant Teacher, you will serve as a role model for fellow staff and contribute to creating a joyful, safe, and stimulating space where young children can thrive and explore their world.
Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to infants’ developmental stages, incorporating elements of literacy education, early intervention strategies, and Montessori principles.
- Lead daily classroom activities that promote social-emotional growth, motor skills development, and early childhood education best practices.
- Manage classroom routines including diapering, feeding, nap times, and sensory activities with patience and professionalism.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to foster positive behavior and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Collaborate with families to share progress updates, discuss developmental milestones, and support children’s welfare both at home and in the classroom.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and interns, providing guidance on lesson planning, classroom management, and child welfare standards.
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, safety protocols, and quality standards for childcare centers or private schools.
- Maintain detailed records of children's progress, attendance, health concerns, and individualized plans for children requiring special education or early intervention services.
Qualifications
- CDA Required Associate Degree preferred
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings such as daycare or preschool environments.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across areas including literacy education, math readiness, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood assessment tools.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, staff members, and community partners.
- Certification in early childhood education or related fields; additional credentials in special education or toddler care are highly desirable.
- Experience with classroom experience involving preschool or private school settings is preferred.
