Lead Instructional Designer

About the Role
We are seeking a Lead – Learning Design to own and drive the end-to-end learning experience across BuildAmbit’s programs. This is a senior, high-impact role that combines curriculum architecture, instructional strategy, and creative storytelling to deliver world-class learning experiences for working AEC professionals. The role requires strategic thinking, strong instructional expertise, and the ability to collaborate deeply with subject-matter experts, educators, and internal production teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program & Curriculum Design
- Design comprehensive, outcome-driven learning journeys for AEC programs (e.g., BIM, Sustainable Design, AI in Architecture).
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts (SMEs) and industry mentors to define learning objectives, course structure, and pedagogical approach.
- Deconstruct complex technical topics into modular, learner-friendly formats including videos, projects, quizzes, and live masterclasses.
2. Instructional & Content Design
- Develop detailed instructional frameworks, storyboards, scripts, and learning activities for recorded and live sessions.
- Apply established instructional design models (ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, etc.) to ensure learning effectiveness and measurable outcomes.
- Work closely with video production and design teams to ensure academic accuracy, clarity, and high visual standards.
- Integrate real-world case studies, hands-on projects, and problem-solving exercises into every program.
3. Faculty & Expert Collaboration
- Partner with leading architects, designers, and industry professionals to co-create high-quality course content.
- Review and refine educator-delivered material to ensure depth, clarity, and relevance for professional learners.
- Guide and train faculty on online teaching best practices, learner engagement strategies, and digital delivery formats.
4. Learner Experience & Quality Assurance
- Conduct course audits, learner feedback reviews, and learning analytics assessments to continuously improve outcomes.
- Ensure consistency in learning tone, instructional quality, and design standards across all programs.
- Experiment with and introduce innovative learning formats such as microlearning, simulations, and cohort-based live programs.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or learning experience design (EdTech or creative learning environments preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex, technical subject matter into engaging, structured learning experiences.
- Strong understanding of pedagogy, adult learning principles, learning psychology, and instructional frameworks.
- Proven experience working with SMEs, educators, or industry experts to build professional-grade learning programs.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with LMS platforms, authoring tools, and digital learning workflows.
- Experience creating or managing video-based learning content at scale.
- Exposure to project-based learning, simulation-driven learning, or cohort-based program models.
