JOB PURPOSE:
The Logistics Planning & Strategy Lead will be responsible for designing and implementing the company’s long-term logistics and distribution strategy across India. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution to drive cost efficiency, service excellence, and network optimization across plants/ vendors, warehouses, and distribution channel.
The ideal candidate is a data-driven problem solver with strong experience in logistics network design, transportation optimization, and end-to-end supply chain strategy in a high-volume consumer products environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning

Develop and implement the logistics and distribution strategy aligned with business growth objectives.

Design a scalable logistics network to support domestic expansion and achieve optimum cost.

Lead cost optimization initiatives through Center of gravity analysis, route rationalization, freight negotiations, and warehouse efficiency.

Plan for the 4M: Manpower, Material, Machines (Infra to run warehouse) , Material (Consumables) and Method (systems and processes).

Evaluate and deploy technology-driven solutions (TMS, WMS, digital freight platforms) to enhance visibility and productivity.
Operational Excellence

Drive on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery performance improvement across channels – distributors, dealers, e-commerce, and modern trade.

Lead the annual logistics budgeting and forecasting process with clear KPIs on cost, service, and inventory efficiency.

Oversee 3PL/4PL partner selection, performance management, and service level compliance.

Standardize and institutionalize best practices in inventory movement, warehouse layout, and secondary transportation.
Analytical & Data-Driven Decision Making

Conduct periodic network and cost-to-serve analyses to identify improvement opportunities.

Use data analytics and simulation tools for demand clustering, warehouse location planning, and load optimization.

Present monthly dashboards to leadership with actionable insights and cost-saving recommendations.
Cross-Functional Leadership

Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Procurement, Planning and Finance teams to align logistics strategy with business priorities.

Support new product launches and regional expansions by developing agile distribution models.

Partner with IT for automation and real-time logistics tracking integration.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS :
Post-graduation Diploma/Degree in (Logistics/Supply Chain Management)
WORK EXPERIENCE:
5 to 8 years of experience
CERTIFICATIONS :
APICS ( Desirable )
PREFERRED/ ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Warehousing Operations + Logistics Operations + Solution designing
