Lead Mechanical Static/Piping Engineer (Four Years Contract)

About the Company

Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.

Purpose of the Job

• Carry out Corporate Function Static / Piping related activities for assets (operation), contracts and/or projects in order to ensure technical integrity and process safety in compliance with company Guidelines / Specification / Standards / Codes according to DCAF requirements.
• Develop & implement company SOP, procedures / guidelines & specifications.
• Standardization, new technology identification & implementation, support continuous improvement.
  
  

Education & Experience

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years in FEED and DD engineering experience in Mechanical Static / Piping preferably in oil & gas
• Mechanical Static / Piping preferably in oil & gas experience
• Good communicator and good inter-personal/leadership skills.
• Experience in managing small teams and third part contractor/licensor.
• Fluent in English; Written and Spoken.
  
  

Main Responsibilities

• Participate in HAZID, Design Reviews, HAZOP’s, IPF Classifications, 3D Model Review, HSE related Workshops.
• Ensure DCAF requirements are in place for projects.
• Identify corporate discipline risks and provide technical support to mitigate the risks.
• Deliver solutions, which deliver highest project value.
• Technical assessment for TA2 and provide recommendation to CFDH.
• Review and endorsing the technical Deviation.
• Support Contract management by providing technical Input in implementation of Corporate Frame & Service Contract.
• Conduct vendor assessment audit and maintain discipline categories in AVME list.
• Define / Update Company Specification / Procedure / Guideline.
• Identify external & internal best practices, lessons learned, champion their dissemination and deployment within PDO.
• Ensure alignment with other disciplines and engineering contractors.
• Provide high quality input to Omani Graduate Development plan & training courses.
• Represent / support the technical audit like pre–start up, contractor pre-qualification, project quality/technical audit etc.
• Review and approve Key Documents / deliverable based on project DCAF requirements.
