Lead PreSchool Teacher

The Lead Preschool Teacher creates a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for preschool-aged children. This role leads daily lessons, supports children’s development, guides assistant teachers, and ensures all Children’s Lighthouse and state licensing standards are followed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement age-appropriate lessons following the Children’s Lighthouse curriculum.
  • Lead classroom activities that support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Guide and support assistant teachers in daily routines and classroom management.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment at all times.
  • Supervise children to ensure safety and appropriate child–teacher ratios.
  • Communicate with parents daily about their child’s progress, behavior, and classroom updates.
  • Observe, assess, and document each child’s development and milestones.
  • Follow all state licensing rules and Children’s Lighthouse policies.
  • Attend staff meetings and required trainings.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Requirements

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a preschool or early childhood classroom.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Knowledge of state childcare regulations.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and classroom-management skills.
  • Ability to lift, bend, sit on the floor, and actively engage with children.

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
