Lead Preschool Teacher

Peapod is the Ozark's first nature preschool, licensed and serving ages birth to six years since 2008. We utilize Project Construct and the DRDP for our curriculum and assessment. Peapod has affiliations with several community organizations such as the Department of Conservation, Missouri Botanical Gardens, Master Gardeners of Southern Missouri, and Parks Department. We strive to provide a variety of rich play based indoor and outdoor experiences, tied to the Missouri Early Learning Goals and Objectives through DESE.

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our Peapod team! This position will work closely with our current preschool lead teacher who will be leaving to student teach in the fall.

Must be age 18 or older and eligible to work in the USA, ability to lift 50 lbs and get in and out of the floor with children multiple times a day, ability to pass a background check and fingerprint FBI background check as well as a negative TB screening valid within the last year, references, will be required to gain CPR/First Aid certification, and must have experience with infants and toddlers. Must be able to pass a drug screening as well.

Job responsibilities may include: creating and implementing lesson plans, taking observations and rating children using the DRDP, managing multiple teachers in a classroom, maintaining cleanly classroom, diapering, feeding, etc.
