Position:

We are looking for a Lead Safety Process Engineer with the following requirements:

A Lead process safety engineer lead needs a strong combination of technical and soft skills, including expertise inprocess safety management (PSM) principles, risk assessment, and hazard analysis techniques like HAZOP. Key leadership abilities include team leadership, communication, and the ability to influence and collaborate across different departments. Technical proficiency in relevant software, a deep understanding of safety regulations, and strategic thinking are also essential for success in a lead role.

Technical and analytical skills

  • Process Safety Management (PSM):Deep knowledge of PSM standards and critical safety activities is fundamental.
  • Risk Assessment and Hazard Analysis:Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and performing hazard analyses, including techniques like HAZOP, PHA, and LOPA.
  • Safety Regulations and Compliance:Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards, such as OSHA, COMAH, and relevant industry standards.
  • Management of Change (MOC):Ability to implement MOC processes effectively while maintaining buy-in from the organization.
  • Root Cause Analysis:Experience and demonstrated ability in conducting root cause analyses and implementing systemic changes.
  • Software Proficiency:Familiarity with process safety software and tools, and potentially process modeling simulation software.
  • Mechanical Integrity:A solid understanding of maintaining mechanical integrity for safety-critical equipment.
  • Incident Response:Capability in crisis management and incident response, including remaining calm and acting quickly in emergencies.
