Lead Release Train Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Drive Agile Transformation

  • Implement SAFe best practices and coach stakeholders on Agile mindset.

  • Mentor leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile principles.

  • Foster Communities of Practice and Built-In Quality practices.

  • Drive continuous improvement through Inspect & Adapt workshops.

Accountable for Train Delivery

  • Ensure successful, on-time delivery with built-in quality.

  • Maintain predictability and transparency of SAFe artifacts.

  • Define, track, and communicate key ART execution metrics.

  • Manage risks, dependencies, and customer feedback loops.

  • Support Product Owners in managing priorities and planning for new customers.

Ensure Train Efficiency

  • Optimize value flow through the release train.

  • Implement lean budgeting and manage resource allocation.

  • Address bottlenecks across heterogeneous technologies.

Facilitate Train Events

  • Organize and facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning.

  • Lead Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, and Solution Demos.

  • Establish annual calendars for iterations and PIs.

  • Summarize and publish Program PI Objectives for visibility.

Build Vision & Foster Innovation

  • Align strategy and execution with Product Management and Architecture teams.

  • Encourage collaboration and continuous exploration for roadmap and backlog readiness.

Team Engagement & Development

  • Create an environment of mutual influence and personal growth.

  • Support team commitments and listen actively to challenges.

What We’re Looking For

  • University Degree or equivalent work experience

  • SAFe Release train engineer certification is a plus

  • 5+ years’ experience in technology project, program delivery incl. significant experience on Mission Critical Applications

  • 5+ years experience in Agile Delivery methods

  • Extensive experience navigating large complex organizations & building relationships with Senior stakeholders

  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multi-site teams and complex dependencies.
