Lead Server

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Lead Server/Trainer to elevate our restaurant’s service standards and foster a dynamic team environment. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a top-performing server while also mentoring and training new team members to ensure exceptional guest experiences. Your leadership will inspire a positive atmosphere, uphold food safety and sanitation standards, and drive sales through upselling and guest engagement. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, possesses strong food industry knowledge, and thrives in fast-paced, fine dining settings.

Duties

  • Lead by example as a skilled server, delivering outstanding customer service with enthusiasm and professionalism
  • Train new servers on POS systems such as Square POS, Trackman, and Woosh, ensuring they understand food handling, sanitation, and service protocols
  • Educate team members on menu details, wine pairings, upselling techniques, and customer relations to maximize sales opportunities
  • Manage daily service operations, including table assignments, guest interactions, and resolving any issues promptly
  • Oversee food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food preparation practices in accordance with health regulations
  • Assist with cash handling, cashiering duties, and opening/closing procedures using POS systems like OpenTable for reservations management
  • Support night club or bar service operations when needed, including bussing tables and managing guest relations in lively environments

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food service or restaurant roles with a focus on fine dining or upscale hospitality environments
  • Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Square, Trackman and Woosh; experience with OpenTable is a plus
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest concerns professionally and efficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest experience and increase revenue
  • Culinary experience or background in food preparation is highly desirable
  • Exceptional time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy service hours
  • Ability to train staff effectively on food safety practices, sanitation standards, and restaurant procedures
  • Basic math skills for cash handling, cashiering, and transaction accuracy
  • Experience with food industry regulations related to sanitation, food handling, and safety protocols
  • Hospitality or serving experience in nightclub or high-volume restaurant settings preferred
