Lead Software Engineer - L1 (ServiceNow)

Lead Software Engineer - L1 (ServiceNow) | Fulltime

Job Description:

This role is required to support backend development and daily operational demands on the ServiceNow platform within RSG. The resource will focus on scripting, workflow automation, integrations, platform, configuration, and optimization to ensure stable, scalable, and efficient ServiceNow operations.

  • Backend development across ServiceNow modules
  • Develop and troubleshoot scripts (JavaScript, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies)
  • Design, configure, and optimize Workflows and Flow Designer automations
  • Perform platform administration (roles, groups, ACLs, tables, forms, catalog items)
  • Support integrations with internal systems using REST/SOAP and MID Server
  • Enable process automation to reduce manual work and improve operational efficiency
  • Manage daily operational demands, enhancements, and platform maintenance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for requirement gathering and solution design
  • Ensure compliance with internal architecture, governance, and security standards
  • Support platform upgrades, patching, testing, and performance tuning
  • Stable and optimized ServiceNow platform
  • Automated workflows supporting our operations
  • Well‑managed day‑to‑day administrative and development tasks
  • Efficient integrations between ServiceNow and internal systems
  • Reduced manual activities through scripting and automation
  • Up‑to‑date platform aligned with business needs

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 5+years of relevant experience

Mandatory Skills:

  • JavaScript, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes
  • Flow Designer and Workflow development
  • Configuration & Administration (ACLs, roles, groups, forms, UI configs)
  • REST/SOAP integrations, IntegrationHub, MID Server
  • ServiceNow ITSM
  • Troubleshooting and backend debugging

Tools / Platforms / Technologies:

Certifications (if any):

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) – Required
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) – Preferred
  • ITIL Foundation – Preferred
