Lead System Administrator

Location: Hyderabad , Bengaluru

Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled MS SQL Database Engineer to manage, support, and optimize our Microsoft SQL Server environments. This role involves maintaining database performance, ensuring high availability, supporting development teams, and enforcing data security best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
Database Administration:

• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across development, test, and production environments.
• Monitor database performance, implement tuning strategies, and optimize queries and indexes.
• Perform regular database maintenance, backups, and restorations.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement and maintain database security, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing.
• Ensure databases comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

High Availability & Disaster Recovery:

• Set up and manage high availability solutions like Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, and Log Shipping.
• Develop, test, and document disaster recovery strategies and participate in DR drills.

Automation and Scripting:

• Automate routine tasks using T-SQL, PowerShell, or other scripting languages.
• Develop and maintain SQL jobs, SSIS packages, and scheduled maintenance tasks.

Support and Troubleshooting:

• Troubleshoot database-related incidents, performance issues, and service outages.
• Work with application teams to resolve database-related issues and optimize integration.

Monitoring and Reporting:

• Use tools like SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Profiler, and third-party tools (SolarWinds DPA, Redgate, etc.) for monitoring and diagnostics.
• Create custom monitoring dashboards and alerts for proactive database management.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience with MS SQL Server (2016/2019/2022).
• Proficiency in T-SQL development, including stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
• Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Knowledge of backup strategies, index maintenance, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Always On, Mirroring, or Replication.
• Familiarity with Windows Server OS, Active Directory, and PowerShell scripting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar.
• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure SQL, Amazon RDS, or Google Cloud SQL.
• Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines for database deployment.
• Understanding of data modeling and normalization techniques.

• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and after-hours maintenance
