Job Description – Lead Teacher (Early Years)

Role Summary
The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating age-appropriate early childhood education programs in alignment with the school’s pedagogy and curriculum framework. The role requires strong classroom leadership, child-centric teaching practices, and effective collaboration with parents and staff to ensure holistic child development.
Key Responsibilities
Academic & Classroom Responsibilities
- Plan and execute developmentally appropriate lesson plans in accordance with the school’s early years curriculum.
- Create a structured, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment that supports cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Observe, assess, and document each child’s progress using approved assessment tools and formats.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate varied learning needs and developmental levels.
- Maintain accurate academic records, portfolios, and progress reports.
Child Development & Well-being
- Ensure the safety, emotional security, and well-being of children at all times.
- Children must never be left unattended under any circumstances.
- Implement positive guidance and classroom management strategies aligned with early childhood best practices.
- Identify developmental concerns and communicate observations responsibly to the Centre Head and parents.
- Immediately report any safety, health, or child protection concerns as per school protocols.
Parent Communication
- Maintain regular and professional communication with parents regarding academic progress, behaviour, and development.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, orientations, workshops, and school events.
- Support parent engagement initiatives as planned by the school.
- All parent communication must align with school policies; no independent assurances or commitments may be made without approval.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor and guide the Assistant Teacher in classroom practices and routines.
- Collaborate with the staff to ensure consistency in curriculum delivery.
- Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and professional development sessions.
Compliance & School Policies
- Adhere strictly to school policies, safety protocols, child protection guidelines, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and preschool information.
- Support audit, inspection, and accreditation processes when required.
- Comply with all escalation, reporting, and documentation procedures defined by the school.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education / Child Development / Education or equivalent.
- Diploma or certification in Montessori / ECCE / Early Years Education preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant teaching experience in a preschool or early years setting.
- Strong understanding of early childhood pedagogy and classroom practices.

- Performance will be reviewed periodically as per school policy, including during the probation period.

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
