Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating diverse teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
- Lead classroom activities that promote literacy, math skills, speech therapy techniques, and early childhood development principles.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavioral therapy techniques and positive behavior management strategies.
- Assess student progress regularly using standardized testing, IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals, and formative assessments to tailor instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with specialists such as speech therapists, behavioral health professionals, and other educators to support students with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Maintain detailed records of student development, IEPs, and behavioral reports while ensuring compliance with educational policies and regulations.
- Mentor and support assistant teachers or teaching aides to foster a collaborative team environment focused on continuous improvement.
Skills
- Proven experience in classroom management within early childhood education or special education settings.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development, literacy education, math instruction, and curriculum development.
- Expertise in working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, or those requiring early intervention services.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, colleagues, and specialists.
- Ability to design engaging lesson plans that incorporate Montessori or preschool methodologies when applicable.
- Familiarity with IEP processes, behavioral health strategies, and behavioral therapy techniques.
