The GSRP (Great Start Readiness Program) Daycare Provider/ Pre School Lead plays a vital role in providing high-quality early childhood education and care to children aged 3 to 5 years old. They create a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes young learners’ social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Implementation:
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities based on the GSRP guidelines to support children's learning and development.
  • Incorporate play-based learning strategies to foster creativity, problem-solving skills, and independence.
  • Child Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of children's development and progress using observation, documentation, and assessment tools.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and families to create individualized learning plans for children with diverse needs.
  • Child Health and Safety:
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by maintaining a clean, organized, and child-friendly environment.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, including administering first aid when necessary and following proper hygiene practices.
  • Family Engagement:
  • Establish positive relationships with families through regular communication, parent meetings, and involvement in children's activities.
  • Provide resources and support to families to enhance their understanding of child development and promote continuity between home and daycare.
  • Professional Development:
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in early childhood education and GSRP guidelines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to reflect on teaching practices and improve program quality.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred). OR A valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood Education (ZA) or Early Childhood-General and Special Education (ZS) endorsement

  • Experience working with young children in a daycare or preschool setting.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development principles and GSRP curriculum guidelines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • DHS Clearance and Background Check (fingerprints)
  • TB testing required

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift Monday-Friday (Summer Schedule may vary)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
