Lead Teacher-Infant Room

Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Teacher for our Infant Room to join our early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will lead a dedicated group of caregivers to create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for our youngest learners. Your expertise will foster positive developmental experiences, support families, and ensure that each infant’s unique needs are met with compassion and professionalism. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children’s early years while leading a collaborative classroom team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily classroom activities, ensuring they are developmentally appropriate, engaging, and aligned with best practices in early childhood education.
  • Provide high-quality infant care by monitoring health, safety, and emotional well-being of each child in your care.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop individualized care plans that support each infant’s growth milestones and special needs.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of children’s progress, behaviors, and developmental achievements for parent communication and regulatory compliance.
  • Foster strong relationships with families through regular updates, conferences, and responsive communication about their child’s development.
  • Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and caregivers, promoting teamwork, classroom management, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the classroom environment is clean, organized, and equipped with age-appropriate materials that stimulate learning and exploration.
  • Uphold all licensing regulations and health & safety standards including first aid procedures and emergency protocols.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with infants in a daycare or preschool setting, with a strong understanding of childhood development principles.
  • Early Childhood Education Credentials
  • Demonstrated classroom management skills combined with the ability to lead a team effectively.
  • Certifications in first aid and CPR are required
  • Knowledge of early childhood education best practices, behavior management strategies, and caregiving techniques specific to infants.
  • Prior experience in preschool or toddler care environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with children, families, and team members.
