Lead Toddler Teacher

To be qualified for the Lead Toddler Teacher position, an AA/BA in Early Childhood Education, or a related field, is required with a minimum of 2 years of childcare classroom experience. We will also be glad to consider a candidate who has earned a CDA in Infants/Toddlers and has a minimum of 2 years of childcare classroom experience. Prefer prior experience as a lead teacher, or show us that you are ready for this next step in your teaching career!

In our team-teaching environment, you will work closely with the other teacher(s) in the classroom. We place high value on experience as a teacher to young children, so if you have been teaching for several years, let us know about you! Most importantly, you must have the passion, patience and LOVE for teaching young children.

Lead Teacher Responsibilities:

• Make the day a LOT OF FUN for our children!
• Work closely with the other educators in the classroom to create a very nurturing, loving and caring environment
• Develop a creative, fun and entertaining learning program by following the professional curriculum Funnydaffer.
• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, singing, dancing, art projects, etc.) to teach the students.
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem.
• Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional conflicts.
• Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times.
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and DHS safety standards.
• Document daily activities on the app; take photos and videos to send to families.

Qualifications:

• AA/BA in Early Childhood Education or CDA in Infants/ Toddlers
• Prefer two years lead teacher experience in a childcare center
• Keystone STARS 4 knowledge preferred, but not required
• Expertise in classroom management skills
• Child assessment experience
• Lesson planning proficiency
• Ability to make the classroom activities engaging and interactive for toddlers
• Professional communication skills with families
• Understanding of child development principles
• Experience in behavior management and classroom discipline
