Leave of Absence Specialist

We’re seeking a Leave of Absence Specialist who will own the end-to-end administration of our absence management programs for approximately 1,500 employees for a cash management transportation client. You’ll serve as the in-house expert on federal, state, and local leave regulations, partnering with HR business partners, union representatives, and employees to deliver a seamless leave experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage all leave of absence programs, including: Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations, Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), Workers’ Compensation (WC), Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA)
  • Review, validate, and track leave requests, medical certifications, and supporting documentation
  • Communicate leave status, timelines, and expectations to employees, managers, HRBPs, and union representatives
  • Evaluate accommodation requests under ADA and partner with employees, managers, and healthcare providers to identify reasonable accommodations
  • Collaborate with payroll and benefits teams to ensure accurate deductions, wage garnishments, and leave-related payments

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of leave administration and absence management experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in FMLA, ADA, USERRA, and other federal/state leave regulations
  • Excel Proficiency(VLOOKUP, PivotTables)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
