About the Role:
Job Summary
Administers FMLA and LOA in a manner that will ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA and Federal and State regulations and NGHS internal policies. Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate records within the NGHS HRIS and employee files. Corresponds with employees and provides appropriate notices within the timeframes required by NGHS Policy and/or applicable laws. Professionally interacts with employees, occupational health and department leaders to educate, inform and provide guidance for leave of absence practices, procedures and status.

Minimum Experience: Three (3) years FMLA administration experience

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Responsible for day-to-day FMLA and LOA administration and compliance with federal laws. Maintains proficiency in all HRIS systems which relate to leave management and PDO as applicable to leave management.
Responds to employee questions and inquiries regarding PDO, LOA, and FMLA, demonstrating courtesy and professionalism at all times.
Responsible for preparation and distribution of all FMLA & LOA communication, electronic and paper, that employees require access to. Ensures compliance with FMLA laws and NGHS internal policies.
Interprets policies and makes recommendations to employees and managers regarding FMLA and LOA options and requirements. Uses independent judgment to guide managers and directors to make correct decisions.
Presents non-standard cases to Employee Benefits Director for review.
Keeps abreast of federal requirements and NGHS policies pertaining to FMLA and LOA. Recognizes when changes need to be made regarding forms, leave packets, instructions to employees, etc. With approval of Employee Benefits Director, implements changes and revises leave packets and employee communication accordingly.
Demonstrates ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive employee information.
Responsible for all imaging and tracking of FMLA documentation.
Other administrative duties as required by Manager.
