Legal Administrative Assistant

Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman, P.C., a national law firm focused exclusively on matters specific to health care organizations, seeks an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to work in our Denver office within a hybrid working environment (3 days in office; 2 days work from home). A Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) at Hall Render performs a wide variety of legal administrative and executive assisting duties. The LAA will support multiple attorneys in a team environment. Major duties of an LAA include providing comprehensive and efficient administrative and secretarial support, complex document editing, creating tables and spreadsheets, project management, calendar and travel management, and maintaining paper and electronic files. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, responds with a sense of urgency and provides support in alignment with Hall Render’s Core Values (Excellence in the Whole Person, Caring Relationships, Diversity, Inclusion, Respect, and Integrity).

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Helping attorneys solve problems by finding reliable solutions while working within Firm policies and procedures.
  • Developing comfort and proficiency with all necessary Firm software and providing first-line support to attorneys.
  • Project management, i.e., being aware of the big picture while managing the smaller parts of it.
  • Drafting, editing, and proofreading a variety of complex documents for correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, format, and content.
  • Creating and maintaining electronic & paper client files
  • Assisting with timekeeping, transcription, payment processing requests & coordinating billing processes.
  • Scheduling and calendar management.
  • Travel arrangements and expense report processing.
  • Communicating directly with clients and courts.
  • Managing attorney memberships and credentials.
  • Serving as back-up LAA to ensure administrative team coverage and continuity.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate with clients in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Proficiency in and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel functions, with an aptitude for quickly learning various other programs.
  • Excellent administrative, writing, grammar, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with team members to find solutions to technical problems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexibility in responding to ever-changing demands and types of work practices.
  • Ability to be assertive and manage up (senior levels)

Education and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in legal administration and organizational skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in legal administration tasks including, but not limited to, document preparation, filing, time entry, expenses, travel arrangements, and calendar management.
  • High school diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Five+ years’ experience within a law firm and/or in a high-level executive assistant role.

Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid role (3 days in office; 2 days work from home)

Benefits: Hall Render offers a competitive salary and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401K, short-term/long term disability, life insurance, paid time off and paid holidays.

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 commensurate with experience

Schedule:

  • 7.5-hour day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Travel requirement:

  • No travel

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
